Hatz AI is building an AI-native platform designed for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and small businesses. We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a small, high-output design team and work directly with product and engineering to own design across the full product lifecycle: discovery, systems, and ship.
You'll take on a high-ownership role at the intersection of technical complexity and human clarity. Your core challenge: take agentic workflows and LLM-powered features and make them feel obvious to non-technical MSP and SMB users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end design for core product areas, from early-stage discovery and user flows through production-ready specs and QA, with a weekly release cadence.
- Translate complex, AI-powered capabilities into intuitive interfaces for non-technical users.
- Prototype quickly using Claude or other tools to test direction before committing engineering time, then move into Figma for production-ready, developer-ready specs.
- Contribute to the design system, building reusable components that scale as the product grows, including closing gaps between Figma and shipped code.
- Drive your own user research: plan and conduct discovery sessions with MSPs and SMB customers, synthesize findings, and feed real user needs into design.
- Lead and contribute to weekly design crits, presenting work in progress and iterating on fast feedback.
- Partner closely with engineering and product to move fast and ship with intention, contributing to prioritization and scoping.
- QA your designs to ensure correct implementation.
- Stay current with evolving AI product patterns, evaluating new interaction models for agentic UX, conversational interfaces, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Contribute to and help define design process, tooling, and rituals as the team scales.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of product or UX design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft, systems thinking, and shipped work across complex or technical products.
- Track record of making technically sophisticated products feel simple; experience designing for data-dense, workflow-driven, or AI-powered environments.
- Fluency in Figma (component libraries, auto layout, prototyping) and comfort working in tools like Claude and v0 to move fast from concept to testable direction.
- Experience conducting and synthesizing user research to ground design decisions in real-world needs.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; you work directly with engineers and PMs, contribute to product conversations, and push back when it improves the work.
- Clear, confident communication; you can present and defend design decisions to stakeholders at any level.
- Comfort in high-growth startup environments with frequent releases, shifting priorities, and a bias toward iteration over perfection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience designing AI-powered products (agentic workflows, LLM interfaces, RAG-driven features, or similar), from 0→1 or through meaningful growth stages.
- Experience using AI tools or low-code environments to explore ideas quickly without waiting for engineering.
- Experience building or governing a design system used across multiple teams or product areas.
- Experience with design tokens and translating Figma variables into code-level tokens.
- Track record of shipping your own updates.
