As a Senior Operations Specialist (Readiness Specialist), you will own a portfolio of dock customer accounts within a region and project manage each customer through all prerequisites before deployment: site readiness, network infrastructure, policy and regulatory approvals, flight operations setup, and handoff to Customer Success. You will coordinate work across internal teams (Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Deployment Engineering, Integrations, Customer Success) and external stakeholders (customer program managers, facilities, IT, procurement, legal) who do not report to you. Success means building relationships that drive execution and holding launch dates. Key responsibilities include: - Owning a book of dock accounts and running weekly customer cadences, readiness records, and risk tracking from opportunity through handoff - Building working relationships with customer stakeholders (program managers, facilities, IT, procurement, legal) and internal Skydio teams - Leading site surveys and make-ready planning, including rooftop assessments, power and mounting evaluation, and RF/LTE/network readiness with customer IT and network administrators - Driving the non-technical path to launch: waivers, BVLOS approvals, policy and data retention, council/board authorization, and pilot staffing and training - Holding readiness gates and escalating blockers early when they exceed your authority - Covering for other specialists during absence or surge, and translating cross-launch insights into playbook improvements and feedback for Product and Engineering The role is remote but requires 50–60% travel to support site surveys, customer engagements, deployments, team onsites, and company events. Requirements: - 3+ years in a customer-facing project management, implementation, deployment, or operations role - Experience managing a portfolio of concurrent projects with timelines, dependencies, and outside stakeholders you do not control - Familiarity with Drone as First Responder concepts of operation and dock-based remote operations (professional experience strongly preferred) - Comfort working with public sector and enterprise customers, including their IT, facilities, procurement, and legal teams - Highly organized with strong attention to detail and disciplined about keeping the system of record current - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to brief operators, program managers, and executives without changing the facts - FAA Part 107 Certificate, or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire - Ability to travel 50–60% of the time - Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unaided - Comfortable working outdoors, at height, and performing physical tasks including climbing ladders Nice to have: - Prior public safety service or experience standing up a Drone as First Responder program on the agency side - Experience supporting an agency through a public approval process (council/board authorization, public comment, privacy and data retention policy) - Familiarity with site survey, RF and LTE assessment, and network readiness for fixed installations - Familiarity with grant funding pathways and cooperative purchasing vehicles used by state and local agencies - Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or equivalents
