AEVEX is seeking a Senior Manager of Finance - Cost & Inventory to lead cost accounting and inventory management functions within a manufacturing operations environment. This is a critical leadership role responsible for end-to-end inventory accuracy, robust product costing, and strict compliance with financial regulations in an aerospace and defense context.
Key responsibilities include:
Cost Accounting & Margin Analysis: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation. Oversee standard costing, job-costing, and development of labor and overhead rates across complex manufacturing programs. Perform deep-dive profitability, variance, and margin analysis by product line, contract, and business unit. Ensure all accounting and estimating processes comply with DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations.
Inventory Management & Control: Govern inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Design and enforce cycle count programs, physical inventory procedures, and ongoing reconciliation. Manage inventory pegging, material traceability, and customer-furnished material tracking within Infor LN. Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, establishing appropriate reserves and mitigation strategies.
Infor LN ERP System Leadership: Serve as functional subject matter expert for Costing, Warehousing, and Manufacturing modules. Ensure seamless synchronization between inventory control, shop floor management, and general ledger. Drive continuous system improvements, data governance, and process automation to minimize manual reconciliations.
Leadership & Compliance: Build, mentor, and lead a team of cost accountants and inventory control specialists. Establish and report on KPIs regarding inventory accuracy and COGS. Enforce strict internal controls, ensure SOX compliance, and support audit activities.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management; 8+ years progressive cost and inventory accounting experience; 3+ years in a management or leadership role; ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI DoD clearance; U.S. citizenship required. CPA, CMA, or CPIM highly preferred. Aerospace & Defense manufacturing background and deep Infor LN expertise strongly preferred.
