Cogent Security is an Applied AI Lab building AI agents for cybersecurity. The company's "AI Taskforce" assesses petabytes of enterprise data to remediate security issues before critical breaches occur. Cogent blends frontier research with real-world execution, partnering with Fortune 500 companies to secure complex production environments. The company is backed by Greylock and has experienced rapid growth since coming out of stealth.
As Senior Manager of Content Marketing, you will lead content strategy and execution across multiple formats. This is a writing-heavy role where most of your time goes to interviewing experts, drafting, and shipping content. The remainder focuses on ensuring content is discoverable through search, AI answers, and social channels.
Key responsibilities include:
**Content Production:** Write blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, and research reports that build awareness with security practitioners and engage buyers at each stage of the buying process. Interview Cogent's researchers, engineers, and field team to gather raw material and ensure technical accuracy. React quickly to breaking security news by writing and shipping point-of-view pieces while stories are relevant.
**Social & Video:** Execute Cogent's social strategy with regular series (weekly VM insights, AI security myths, remediation playbooks) that maintain visibility with practitioners. Write scripts for short videos and explainers, and work with contractors on production.
**Search & AEO:** Run the SEO and AEO program by researching what buyers search for and ask AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude). Structure content to rank in search and get cited in AI answers. Track performance and refresh underperforming pieces.
**Research & Story Packaging:** Collaborate with the research team on Cogent's flagship research report—dig into data, shape findings into compelling narratives, and write the report. Project manage through launch, then transform it into derivative content (blog series, social posts, video, sales assets). Repurpose strong research, product insights, and customer stories into new formats.
**AI-Native Production:** Use AI across your workflow (research synthesis, drafting, editing, repurposing) to ship at the pace of a small team without sacrificing accuracy or voice. Build systems that accelerate work, such as prompt libraries, voice guides, and a living archive of positioning, proof, and research.
**Requirements:**
Must-Have:

- Hands-on SEO and AEO experience with tools like Semrush, GA4, Profound, and AirOps
- Experience shipping at a fast-moving company without a large team
- Fluency with AI in actual work; ability to walk through a content workflow you built, where it broke, and what you changed
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience writing about vulnerability management, exposure management (CTEM), AppSec, cloud security, or AI in security operations
