Rula is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to navigate the intersection of healthcare regulation and commercial growth. You will support payor and clinical contracting efforts, serving as a trusted partner to business teams while building scalable, compliant partnerships and ensuring quality service delivery. Key responsibilities include: - Advising on complex healthcare regulatory challenges including corporate practice of medicine, fraud and abuse laws (Anti-Kickback Statutes, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties), telehealth regulations, scope of practice, and state AI laws - Drafting and negotiating provider agreements, payor agreements, commercial agreements, network participation agreements, business associate agreements, management services agreements, and professional services agreements - Supporting clinical governance frameworks for AI initiatives - Providing strategic guidance on Medicare and Medicaid requirements and reimbursement issues - Building foundational legal processes that enable the company's mission of making high-quality mental healthcare accessible - Transforming regulatory complexity into clear, actionable advice that proactively mitigates business risks Required qualifications: - 7+ years of related professional experience - Minimum 5 years of healthcare regulatory law experience (law firm or in-house) covering corporate practice of medicine, federal/state fraud and abuse laws, scope of practice, telehealth, HIPAA, and AI governance - Minimum 5 years of contracting experience with healthcare agreements - Experience working with healthcare providers and entities - Strong writing, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Preferred qualifications include privacy law and employment law experience.
