Quizlet is a $1B+ learning platform used by two-thirds of U.S. high school students and half of college students, powering over 1 billion learning interactions weekly. The company blends cognitive science with machine learning to personalize learning experiences for students, professionals, and lifelong learners. The UX Foundations team owns Quizlet's mobile apps end-to-end, including core app layers (shared libraries, SDKs, security, CI/CD, release process) and feature work across the app. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you'll split your time between owning foundational iOS infrastructure that all feature teams build upon and shipping user-facing features directly. Key responsibilities include: - Design, build, and maintain core iOS app layers—shared libraries, SDKs, and frameworks—that feature teams depend on - Own and ship user-facing features end-to-end from design through release alongside foundation work - Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and the iOS release process - Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver solutions - Drive incident investigations, post-mortems, and retrospectives; advocate for long-term system improvements - Influence your team on engineering improvements to increase software quality, testing, and processes - Understand existing systems and proactively suggest improvements based on industry best practices You bring multiple years of mobile software development experience, strong problem-solving and debugging skills, proficiency in iOS development with comfort in Android, eagerness to learn and take on challenges, and excellent communication skills across audiences. Bonus experience includes native Android and iOS development, cross-platform approaches and tradeoffs evaluation, and a track record of influencing adjacent engineering teams on best practices. The role is hybrid in the San Francisco office with an expectation of 2 days per week in-office (Wednesday and Thursday, or as needed). Remote candidates anywhere in the US are also considered.
