Salary: USD 182,600 - 295,350 / annual
LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Director of Revenue Accounting and OTC Operations to lead the global revenue accounting organization and shape the controllership roadmap. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role combining deep technical revenue accounting expertise with operational leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the global revenue accounting and OTC operations functions, owning all revenue streams, commissions accounting, and the monthly/quarterly/annual close process
- Serving as the company's subject matter expert on revenue recognition (ASC 606), providing technical guidance to executive leadership and GTM partners
- Collaborating with Data and FP&A teams on metrics reporting (ARR, NNARR, ACV) and forecasting assumptions
- Partnering with GTM, Deal Management, Legal, and Product to define contract structures and approval matrices that balance governance with business practicality
- Strengthening the internal control environment, including SOX readiness, process documentation, and control design
- Managing the annual external audit for revenue-related areas and partnering with auditors
- Designing and executing scalable OTC workflows and system processes to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort
- Partnering with Technology teams on ERP and system enhancements, integrations, and reporting improvements
- Building management reporting and KPIs for the revenue accounting organization
- Mentoring, developing, and retaining a high-performing accounting team
Required qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and industry leadership in multi-entity, public-company SOX environments
- Hands-on systems orientation with experience improving ERP workflows, reporting, and automation; experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP), CPQ, and SFDC
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, revenue cycle operations, internal controls, close processes, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated success leading teams through scale, process improvement, and organizational change
- Experience building and improving OTC cycle operations in fast-paced SaaS or technology companies
- Track record of driving process transformation through automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions
- Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence outcomes across Finance, Product, Legal, Sales, and executive leadership
- Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and clear communication skills with senior leaders and auditors
- Ability to move between strategic leadership and detailed execution with high ownership
