DoubleVerify (DV Scibids) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and build critical data and integration capabilities at the core of their AI-powered digital campaign activation platform. The role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a product mindset, focusing on designing pragmatic, scalable data solutions in a complex adtech ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include exploring and integrating external partner APIs to support product expansion, working closely with Product teams to clarify technical constraints and shape product decisions, and designing backend services consumed by other DV teams. You will build and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and reconcile data from partner platforms and internal systems, handling massive datasets generated by digital advertising auctions while maintaining reliability and performance at scale.
You will collaborate across Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to bridge business needs with platform capabilities and Scibids optimization logic. Additional responsibilities include operating production systems, investigating issues, implementing durable fixes, and continuously releasing features using automated deployment tools and infrastructure-as-code frameworks. You will improve observability, reliability, and maintainability of owned systems, provide code reviews, contribute to system design discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or similar roles, with strong programming skills in Python and SQL. You should have experience integrating with external APIs, building production services, designing and operating data pipelines at scale, and familiarity with cloud environments and modern engineering practices (Git, CI/CD, Docker, container orchestration). Experience with Java, Rust, or similar languages is a plus. Comfort collaborating with product managers and non-technical stakeholders is essential, as is strong communication and cross-team collaboration. Familiarity with AdTech or auction-based systems is a plus but not required. The company uses AI-augmented development; familiarity with Claude Code or Cursor is welcome but not mandatory.
