Moody's Cybersecurity Data Management team is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design and deliver analytics and business intelligence solutions that transform operational security data into actionable insights. This role bridges cybersecurity operations and data analytics, requiring expertise in modern data platforms and visualization tools.
You will design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to communicate cybersecurity metrics, trends, and operational insights to stakeholders across the organization. You'll extract, model, and prepare data from Splunk using Search Processing Language queries, APIs, and scheduled exports for analytics and reporting. Building and maintaining data pipelines, semantic models, datasets, and reporting structures within Microsoft Fabric environments will be core responsibilities.
Collaboration is essential—you'll work with security operations, detection engineering, audit, compliance, and leadership teams to gather requirements and deliver meaningful reporting solutions. You'll establish and maintain data models, DAX measures, and governance standards ensuring reporting accuracy, consistency, and scalability. The role includes developing self-service reporting capabilities, reusable templates, and data assets that enable business users to independently explore cybersecurity data.
You'll monitor data quality, freshness, lineage, and performance across reporting environments while optimizing Power BI and Fabric workspaces. Documentation of data sources, reporting logic, and visualization standards is expected, along with support for ad hoc reporting requests related to audit and compliance activities.
The ideal candidate brings 6-9 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, reporting, or analytics with exposure to cybersecurity or IT operations data. Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard design, workspace administration, performance optimization) and Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, OneLake, semantic models) is required. You'll need strong SQL skills, ability to translate complex cybersecurity data into clear visualizations, and demonstrated proficiency with AI concepts and tools. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field is required; relevant certifications preferred.
