Salary: USD 130,000 - 145,000 / annual
OpenGov is seeking a Senior Customer Success Manager to lead enterprise customer relationships in the public sector software space. You will manage a portfolio of approximately 20 high-value accounts, driving net retention, renewals, and expansion across OpenGov's suite of ERP and AI solutions for local and state governments.
Key responsibilities include owning the health and success of complex enterprise relationships, developing comprehensive customer success plans aligned with client strategic goals, and proactively engaging senior stakeholders such as Finance Directors and City Managers. You will serve as a bridge between customers and OpenGov's Product and Sales leadership, identifying opportunities for product improvements and resolving high-priority escalations. The role requires travel to customer sites and leadership of regional user groups to build community and accelerate product adoption.
You will mentor junior CSMs and contribute to refining OpenGov's go-to-market strategy. Success requires mastery of OpenGov's product verticals, including local/state government, special districts, and higher education sectors.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of account management, customer success, or sales experience in complex technology, finance, or accounting SaaS environments. Demonstrated track record of exceeding quarterly retention and revenue targets. Strong executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Salesforce, G-Suite, and modern CS platforms. Bachelor's degree required; sales training certifications (MEDDIC, Challenger) or graduate degree preferred. Willingness to travel as needed.
