Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers, serving over 750 payers including the top five national health plans. As Senior Client Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for an assigned book of vertically aligned enterprise clients, driving growth and ensuring exceptional customer experience.
You will manage revenue targets, oversee client renewals and retention, and identify expansion opportunities across your assigned portfolio. Key responsibilities include building deep client relationships to understand their business strategies and challenges, conducting comprehensive client business reviews, and collaborating with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Product, Services, Marketing) to deliver innovative solutions. You will proactively identify and mitigate risks such as volume decreases and service gaps, optimize existing products to drive revenue growth, and uncover cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Your role requires excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across the organization and communicate effectively with executive leadership. You will leverage data and reporting to identify client and industry trends, synthesize complex information into compelling narratives, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in managing multiple priorities. Client advocacy is central to the role—you will ensure industry-leading service delivery, manage escalations, and nurture clients into loyal promoters.
The position requires 5+ years of client management experience in the payer space, with demonstrated success managing mid to large enterprise clients. Healthcare industry experience is essential, including knowledge of insurance companies, cost management, electronic payments, or healthcare communications solutions. You should have proven ability to manage revenue, increase utilization, and influence across matrix organizations. Travel is estimated at 30-40% primarily for domestic meetings.
