Nadia Care is reimagining maternal health delivery for underserved communities, offering wrap-around support (doula services, lactation consulting, nutrition, care navigation) to expectant mothers throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.
As Specialty Care Manager, you are the operational anchor for all contracted specialty care roles—Doulas, Registered Dietitians (RDs), and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). Sitting within Care Operations, you directly oversee all specialists and contractors across all regions, driving end-to-end coordination, roster availability, panel matching, compliance, contractor accountability, and onboarding. Clinical scope-of-practice and quality-of-care concerns escalate to Regional Managers and Clinical Leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
**Contractor Performance & Accountability**: Track visit completion, labor attendance, and charting timelines across all specialists. Conduct routine audits in platform systems (Athena, Spruce, Acuity) for incomplete charts and overdue documentation. Identify and escalate contractor administrative non-compliance, missed labor events, or boundary violations to the Senior Manager of Care Operations. Perform regular invoice review against active contracts to verify billing accuracy and rate adherence.
**Credentialing & Roster Compliance**: Serve as primary operational interface with Licensing, Credentialing & Enrollment (LCE). Actively track, collect, and maintain up-to-date credentialing artifacts (licenses, certifications, liability insurance, background checks) from all contractors prior to expiration. Maintain an audit-ready credentialing and payer-approval status tracker to ensure no contractor provides unbillable or uncredentialed care.
**Recruitment & Interviewing**: Lead interviews for incoming Doula, RD, and Lactation Consultant candidates, evaluating for operational fit, communication skills, and scope adherence. Represent Nadia Care at community and regional recruitment events (in-person or virtual). Maintain collaborative relationships with regional doula collectives and specialty contractor networks.
**Cross-Functional Alignment**: Partner closely with Regional Managers, Maternity Navigators, Care Coordinators, and RNs to integrate specialty care into broader member care plans. Produce monthly panel summaries detailing active assignments, delivery windows, credentialing renewals, and capacity constraints. Align with onboarding, enablement, and care delivery teams on contractor workflows and training materials.
**Birth Support Coordination**: Coordinate doula assignments for opted-in members, ensuring primary and backup doula matches by 30 weeks gestation. Lead member-facing communication on birth support expectations and labor activation protocols. Participate in structured, team-backed on-call rotation for live labor events to confirm doula dispatch and resolve coverage bottlenecks. Maintain real-time delivery tracker and proactively redistribute assignments to prevent clustering gaps.
**Requirements**:
- 3–5 years of experience in care coordination, maternal health operations, or contractor panel administration across multiple care verticals (Doulas, RDs, IBCLCs)
- Strong autonomous startup experience, organizational skills, and operational strength
- High fluency with digital care systems and platforms (Athena Health, Spruce, Acuity, Slack, Google Workspace)
- Willingness and ability to participate in structured, team-backed on-call rotation outside standard business hours for active labor triage and coverage emergencies
- Demonstrated experience evaluating contractor candidates and conducting structured interviews
- Highly organized with strong communication skills; ability to hold independent contractors accountable to administrative, charting, credentialing, and SLA standards while appropriately routing clinical matters to leadership
- Comfort with operational ambiguity, rapid scaling, and wearing multiple hats in a hypergrowth startup environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus given member populations served
- Clinical specialty background not required, but prior experience working alongside clinical disciplines is a plus
