Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for major companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony. As a Periodic Review Due Diligence Specialist, you will safeguard the platform by ensuring merchant files remain compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will conduct AML periodic and event-driven file reviews, meticulously verifying ownership structures, business activities, and transaction profiles to uphold the highest regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include assessing merchant risk ratings and due diligence levels based on current information and review findings. You will manage periodic review cases from assignment through closure, ensuring accurate status tracking, documentation, and outcomes in internal systems like Salesforce. You will raise and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with merchants, account managers, and internal stakeholders when documents or clarifications are required.
For high-risk entities, you will conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) providing deep-dive analysis and clear rationales for final decisions. You will escalate cases appropriately where review findings, risk indicators, or policy triggers require secondary review or approval. Your documentation must be high-quality and audit-ready, clearly supporting your decision-making process. You will immediately escalate unusual or suspicious activity in line with internal reporting obligations and contribute to consistent decision-making and knowledge sharing across the periodic review team.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Law, Financial Crime Compliance, or a related field, with professional certifications such as CAMS or ICA highly desirable. You should have 3–5 years of progressive experience in AML/CTF, KYC/KYB, and enhanced due diligence operations within a regulated financial services environment. You must be proficient at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment while adhering to strict SLAs without compromising compliance integrity, with strong working knowledge of due diligence requirements and the ability to interpret evolving regulatory guidance.
