Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses. As a Build Reliability Engineer II, you will partner with design and manufacturing teams to develop test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for spacecraft hardware, ensuring production processes yield verified, reliable hardware at scale. Key responsibilities include: • Collaborating with design engineering and manufacturing teams to create comprehensive test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for all vehicle hardware • Containing suspect or non-conforming product and providing technical guidance to quality inspectors, technicians, shop supervisors, and engineers • Leading failure investigations across production, test, and operational phases; identifying root causes and implementing mitigations to reduce risk and improve design and process reliability • Providing critical peer review of hardware during design reviews and acceptance/qualification test campaigns • Supporting Quality, Flight Reliability, and Mission Assurance functions as needed The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in hardware design, testing, manufacturing, and troubleshooting. You should be process-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience with spacecraft or complex hardware systems is highly valued.
