Sona is an AI-native workforce management platform serving frontline organizations (restaurants, hospitals, schools, airlines, retail, emergency services) that employ 80% of the global workforce. The company has raised over $100M from top-tier VCs, signed 100+ enterprise customers across the UK and US, and operates offices in London, New York, Austin, and Lisbon.
You'll join as a US-based Solutions Consultant, reporting to the Director of Solution Consulting in London. This is a founding role where you'll help shape how Sona sells in the American market, particularly in Hospitality and Retail sectors. You'll be a technical and solution-led partner for the growing US sales team, working closely with Account Executives to turn complex workforce challenges into confident buying decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the technical and solution-led side of the US sales process, from discovery through proof-of-concept engagements and RFP responses
- Partner with Account Executives to lead consultative product demonstrations that connect Sona's capabilities to customer pain points and business outcomes
- Build deep expertise in the Sona platform and become a trusted advisor to US prospects and customers
- Develop and refine US-specific technical sales assets, including demo environments, competitive positioning, and sector-specific playbooks
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Implementation to relay US market feedback and ensure seamless post-sale handovers
- Contribute to building Sona's US go-to-market capability by shaping processes and raising the bar for how the company sells
You'll operate with significant autonomy, running ahead of the UK team for much of your day. The role requires deep familiarity with the workforce management and HR tech space, consultative discovery and demo skills, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity while building processes from scratch.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience as a Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, or in a technical pre-sales role (implementation backgrounds with strong commercial exposure also considered)
- Background in scheduling, workforce management, HR tech, payroll, or adjacent products—credibility in WFM conversations from day one is essential
- Experience in a startup or scaleup environment with a complex, modern product that changes frequently; ability to learn fast and thrive on ambiguity
- Strong discovery and storytelling skills—lead with problems and outcomes, not features; ability to adapt narrative to different personas and sectors
- Self-starting and proactive; capable of building process where none exists, seeking out what you need, and operating independently across timezones
- Bonus: experience with AI-powered products or genuine interest in applied AI
- Bonus: early-stage solutions role experience and knowledge of building the function, not just running it
