Salary: USD 149,500 - 193,500 / annual
Algolia is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join its go-to-market team in a pre-sales technical role. You will work closely with sales and solutions organizations to drive revenue and customer adoption of Algolia's AI Search platform, which powers over 30 billion search requests weekly for 18,000+ businesses including Under Armour, Stripe, and Walgreens.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical wins and demonstrating product-market fit on opportunities and accounts. You'll lead technical pre-sales relationships with prospects, work alongside Account Executives, deliver product demonstrations, architect solutions, and overcome technical objections. You'll communicate with both technical stakeholders (CTOs, software engineers) and business buyers, translating technical concepts into business value.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the sales process through technical discovery, demos, proofs of concept, and RFP responses
- Understanding customer goals and mapping Algolia solutions to their needs
- Leveraging the Algolia ecosystem to validate technical and functional fit
- Advocating customer interests and feedback to product and engineering teams
- Staying current with search and discovery industry trends and contributing thought leadership
- Ensuring smooth handoff to solution architects and customer success teams for post-sales onboarding
You should have 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role (SE, SA, consultant, PM), ideally in SaaS. Software development experience is required in areas like front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, React), back-end (Java, Ruby, Go, Node, Python), or data transformation. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a passion for solving customer problems are essential. Experience at high-growth companies in the $150M-300M+ ARR range is preferred. Nice-to-haves include bilingual fluency (Spanish/Portuguese), search or e-commerce background, and knowledge of platforms like Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
