Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies including Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. The company recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding and is building the platform engineers rely on to ship AI products at scale.
As a Solutions Architect for EMEA, you will be the bridge between Sales and customers, translating business needs into technical solutions. You'll lead technical discovery calls, run demos, scope deployments, and guide proofs of value. This role combines customer-facing technical expertise with hands-on implementation support, working closely with Sales and the Forward Deployed Engineering team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Sales on customer discovery and technical scoping calls, often as the second technical touchpoint for accounts
- Leading demos and defining success criteria, architecture decisions, and deployment approaches
- Owning benchmarking and repeatable deployment patterns across multiple modalities (LLMs, embeddings, image/video generation, Voice AI)
- Advising on infrastructure tradeoffs such as H100 vs B200 GPUs and latency-optimized vs throughput-optimized configurations
- Becoming proficient with inference runtimes including vLLM, SGLang, and TRT-LLM
- Driving POC execution and acting as project lead, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment
- Escalating complex technical work to Forward Deployed Engineering when needed

REQUIREMENTS:
- AI/ML background with ability to credibly discuss AI/ML topics with technical stakeholders
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including structured discovery and requirements clarification
- Technical depth to scope solutions without needing to write production code
- Ability to script and prototype as needed, including comfort with rapid prototyping to move quickly
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience running or supporting benchmarks for ML inference deployments
- Familiarity with infrastructure tradeoffs relevant to inference performance and cost (GPU selection, latency vs throughput tuning)
- Experience as a cross-functional technical lead for customer POCs with Sales and Engineering coordination
