Element develops a sovereign, interoperable, and secure communications platform for government, defence, and public sector organisations. The company works closely with NATO, the United Nations, and more than 35 governments to provide sovereign workplace solutions for highly regulated and security-sensitive environments. This is a hybrid Solutions Architect role within the Customer Success organisation, combining pre-sales and technical delivery responsibilities. This includes delivering product demos, conducting architecture reviews and technical deep-dives, engaging in discovery conversations to understand customer pain points, providing solution sizing and integration guidance, contributing to RFP responses and formal proposals, and representing the voice of prospective customers internally. In the post-sales capacity, you will lead the design of customer solutions using Matrix and Element's stack, own technical delivery from requirements gathering through deployment, act as a mediator between customer needs and Element's product roadmap, provide guidance on installation, configuration, scaling, and integration, manage scope, risks, and timelines for implementation work, and help improve documentation and internal processes. You will serve as both a trusted advisor for new customers and a key technical partner for existing ones, driving adoption of Element and Matrix across high-profile institutions. You'll focus predominantly on the English-speaking market (primarily UK and US), while supporting international opportunities as needed. REQUIREMENTS: - Fluent English (C1+) - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills - Strong understanding of modern infrastructure: Linux, Kubernetes, Helm - Working knowledge of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL) - Familiarity with directory services and authentication (LDAP, AD, OIDC, SSO) - Experience in technical roles serving enterprise or government clients - Familiarity with scripting or programming (Python, JS, or similar) - Familiarity with web technologies and client/server architecture - Familiarity with Git BONUS QUALIFICATIONS: - Fluency in other European languages, particularly German or French - Familiarity with VoIP, E2EE, or decentralised systems - Experience working in/with the public sector in UK/US - Contributions to or experience with open source projects - UK Security Clearance - Knowledge of mobile platforms (iOS, Android) - Familiarity with mobile device management technologies
