Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual

With ~200 employees globally in a fully distributed setup, Speechify is building accessible reading technology that serves users with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences. The Platform team is responsible for all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal systems for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align architecture with product strategy. Key responsibilities include building scalable backend infrastructure, enhancing API performance, supporting B2B enterprise solutions with customization and integration capabilities, and working closely with product and frontend teams. The role requires TypeScript/Node.js expertise and direct experience with GCP; knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is valuable. Docker and Kubernetes experience is preferred. You should be efficient at prioritizing tasks by impact, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and passionate about making product decisions that delight users.
