Cloudflare is hiring Senior Software Engineers to work on its Network Services product suite, which delivers connectivity, scale, and performance of Cloudflare's global network to customers' network infrastructure and private networks. The role focuses on building large-scale, distributed networking systems that power millions of internet properties.
Key areas of work include:
- Anycast BGP implementation that sustains sessions across servers and regions
- Flow and log collection, correlation, and analytics systems for network visibility
- Linux kernel-based networking dataplane that ingests and forwards traffic from major networks
- Control plane systems enabling customers to express complex network configurations
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, deploy, and operate systems on one of the world's largest edge networks. You'll work across multiple technologies and systems to deliver features, improve performance, and increase scalability. The role involves partnering with experienced engineers and product managers to solve high-impact problems.
Desirable experience includes: large-scale distributed systems, systems-level programming (Go, Rust), L3/L4 networking protocols, Linux kernel networking (netfilter, nftables, eBPF, tc, network namespaces), RESTful API design, large-scale data pipelines, debugging and optimization, end-to-end ownership of solutions, cross-team collaboration, and strong communication skills.
