Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer (L2) to join the Stytch team and build the next generation of identity and authentication infrastructure. In this role, you'll design and build backend systems powering authentication, authorization, and emerging agentic/non-human identity use cases. You'll operate with high ownership in a startup-like environment within Twilio, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows while leveraging Twilio's scale and reach. Key responsibilities include building backend product capabilities for Stytch's identity platform, partnering with product and engineering leadership to translate customer needs into features, and collaborating across teams on architecture and integration. You'll author design documents, drive technical decisions, review code, and maintain deep ownership of shipped systems. The role emphasizes building in ambiguity, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and designing delightful developer experiences. You'll also improve production quality through observability and incident response, and mentor other engineers to raise the team's technical bar. Required qualifications: 3+ years designing and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud production systems; familiarity with modern programming languages and production codebases; extensive RESTful API design and development experience; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience; excellent communication skills; and ability to work non-standard on-call rotations including weekends and holidays. Desired experience includes Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB; building developer tools or SDKs; and owning products consumed by paying customers. Twilio values diverse backgrounds and encourages non-traditional career paths. The company is remote-first but may request occasional in-person attendance for team gatherings, offsites, or customer meetings.
