Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Platform team's Kernel software group in Dublin. You will work on Linux Kernel and BIOS software, responsible for keeping pace with the latest Linux Kernel developments and integrating them into Arista EOS. Your work will involve extending and developing new kernel features, collaborating with the kernel community to get changes integrated upstream, and managing CPU subsystems across Arista products.
Key responsibilities include evaluating new CPUs, working with CPU and BIOS vendors to integrate their stacks into EOS, and handling bringup and qualification of components into hardware products. You will own projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions, ensuring quality across all deliverables. The role spans the full software development lifecycle: adding new features, debugging problems, and fine-tuning code for scalability and performance.

Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience with C or C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience working on Linux Kernel software (preferred)
- Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems (preferred)
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to design and implement solutions successfully
