The Authentication engine dynamically optimizes transaction flows to eliminate checkout friction while maintaining strict compliance. Both products are core pillars of Adyen Uplift, an advanced AI-powered payment optimization suite designed to drive peak performance for global enterprise merchants.
Based in Bengaluru, one of the world's most dynamic fintech hubs, the engineering team navigates intricate compliance frameworks, including the RBI's Card-on-File Tokenization (CoFT) and multi-factor authentication mandates. The team designs and scales low-latency, highly resilient distributed systems that process millions of daily transactions.
In this role, you will build and maintain the distributed high-performance platform, taking complete end-to-end ownership of mission-critical architecture that directly impacts enterprise merchants and consumers across APAC, Europe, and the Americas. You will launch fast and iterate often—within your first few weeks, you will bring code live that impacts many businesses and shoppers. You will be fully responsible from initial design to bringing new functionality live, identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable, and collaborate across teams and time zones to make things happen, review code, and be open to feedback. You will also help core financial data processes and work on finance infrastructure to keep it scalable, reliable, and secure.
Tech Stack: Java 21, RESTful Web Services, SQL/PostgreSQL with MyBatis (ORM), Tomcat, Gradle, CockroachDB, and Elasticsearch.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience with object-oriented programming languages (Java) for SDE2 level, or 7+ years for Senior Software Engineer level
- Flexible, team player with attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership, lead projects, and write testable code
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts
- Proficiency in English; additional languages a plus
- Office-first role based in Bengaluru with in-person collaboration valued
