ARQ is a fast-growing fintech company on a mission to redefine how people interact with money across borders, building infrastructure for seamless value transfer globally.
You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems powering ARQ's innovative financial products. Working with a talented engineering team, you'll create solutions that drive financial inclusion and transform how people manage their money.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greenfield development and improvement of existing backend systems
- Building REST APIs and engineering microservices
- Evolving critical business systems including card payments, treasury management, transactions booking, and crypto liquidity
- Collaborating on clean code practices with emphasis on maintainability and fast iteration
- Implementing test-driven development (TDD), domain-driven design (DDD), and continuous integration/delivery practices
The technology stack is primarily Java 25 on the backend with Postgres databases and Spring Boot for rapid, quality delivery.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in backend development with fluency in Java
- Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering/Science disciplines
- Quick learner with ambitious, results-driven personality and excellent communication skills (English fluency, verbal and written)
- Track record of building complex products used by millions in hypergrowth startups
