As a Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems powering ARQ's innovative products. You'll collaborate with a talented team to create solutions that transform how people manage their money.
Your work will focus on greenfield development and improvement of existing systems. Projects include building REST APIs, engineering microservices, and evolving critical business systems such as card payments, treasury management, transactions booking, and crypto liquidity. The technology stack is predominantly Java 25 on the backend with Postgres databases, leveraging Spring Boot for rapid and quality delivery. The team emphasizes clean code, maintainability, and fast turnaround using TDD, DDD, and continuous integration & delivery practices.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable experience in backend development with fluency in Java
- Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering/Science disciplines
- Quick learner with ambitious, results-driven personality and excellent communication skills (English fluency, verbal and written)
- Track record of building complex products used by millions in hypergrowth startups
