Neighbor is building a hyperlocal marketplace operating across all 50 US states, backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and CEOs from DoorDash, StockX, and Uber.
As Software Engineer, Data, you will be the first dedicated data engineer on the data & analytics team, owning the complete data infrastructure that transforms raw events into actionable intelligence for the entire organization. You'll design, build, and scale pipelines and transformation layers that power analytics across the company, enabling reliable, data-driven decision-making at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and optimizing data pipelines that ingest from production databases, APIs, and event streams
- Designing and maintaining the transformation layer using dbt and Dagster
- Serving data through semantic layers and BI tools (Superset)
- Establishing engineering best practices and foundations for the data function
- Collaborating with data analysts and data scientists to support their analytics needs
- Scaling infrastructure on Redshift and Athena to handle nationwide marketplace operations
