Reltio, an SAP Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Core Platform development team in Lisbon. You will play a technically senior role within a cross-functional team, taking ownership of complex feature delivery for Reltio's Context Intelligence Platform—a cloud-native SaaS solution that harmonizes and unifies fragmented enterprise data to enable AI agents and systems to operate at scale.
In this role, you will be technically responsible for feature delivery, including presenting solutions to architects, driving technical decisions, and providing development leadership by distributing tasks across one or two junior engineers. You'll collaborate closely with tech leads, architects, QA, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions. Key responsibilities include developing complex backend features, ensuring strong code coverage through unit and integration testing, making daily technical decisions, communicating professionally across cross-functional teams, and maintaining systems under your ownership.
You must have 2+ years of enterprise application design and development experience, 2+ years in backend application development, and 1+ years building scalable distributed data systems using Java and cloud technology. Strong Java knowledge (Java 8+) and runtime basics are essential. You should demonstrate a solid foundation in computer science with competencies in algorithms, data structures, software design, and large distributed systems. Experience with performance optimization, code profiling, and Java application runtime analysis is required. You will provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior team members while remaining hands-on with code review and development.
Nice-to-have skills include SaaS customer support experience, big data technologies, NoSQL databases, cloud-managed services (AWS, GCP, Azure), and advanced degrees or equivalent experience.
