You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and reliable backend services, APIs, and microservices that enable product teams to leverage AI models effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Platform Architecture: Design core backend services and microservices for secure AI model access
- Agent Orchestration: Build scalable frameworks supporting multi-step agent workflows, task decomposition, tool invocation, and persistent memory
- Evaluation & Reliability: Develop robust evaluation systems to measure reasoning quality, hallucination rates, and task success
- Operational Excellence: Architect high-performance serving infrastructure with strict guarantees around latency, throughput, cost-efficiency, and error handling
- Observability & MLOps: Ensure comprehensive monitoring, structured logging, and distributed tracing across deployed AI models
- Collaboration: Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to build self-serve infrastructure
- Leadership: Advocate for software engineering best practices, conduct design and code reviews, and mentor junior engineers

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) is required. You'll work in a small, fast-paced team with a mandate to empower AI development across Mixpanel.
