ServiceNow is hiring a Software Engineer to join their AI Developer Products team in San Diego. This role focuses on building customer-facing AI products that help developers work smarter and faster.
You'll be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, and reusable code while adhering to software engineering best practices including code reviews and unit testing. You'll partner closely with product owners and developers to understand requirements and own the full lifecycle of features—from design through implementation, testing, and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building clean, scalable code with strong architectural practices
- Designing intuitive software that allows customers to extend and customize functionality
- Implementing new AI-driven products and features while enhancing existing offerings
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Ensuring code quality through testing and performance optimization
You should have a passion for applying AI to solve developer problems and experience with modern development stacks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and NodeJS, along with familiarity with modern UI frameworks like React. Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and performance considerations is important.
A background in AI productivity tools (Windsurf, Cursor, etc.) is a plus. You'll need strong analytical and design skills, plus working knowledge of development tools including IDEs, debuggers, build systems, and source control.
