The Media & Growth Team drives user acquisition primarily through organic social content on Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and other platforms. The team has generated hundreds of millions of organic views by creating trusted salary and job content in-house.
In this full-time role on the media team, you will be the first face that people in your assigned city see and interact with before using the Bandana platform. You'll be responsible for creating content for specific cities across the U.S., ideating and testing new content formats including animations, skits, and documentaries, and growing social pages from zero.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce quick but quality job videos explaining and promoting job opportunities across multiple channels
- Search Bandana.com and other job boards to identify the best and newest opportunities to share with job seekers
- Create engaging social media graphics emphasizing pay transparency for jobs, apprenticeships, and training programs
- Schedule and post content across all social platforms, respond to interactions, and resolve account issues
- Test and ideate new distribution channels and content formats
- Monitor analytics (views, followers, clicks) and learn from performance to hit growth goals
- Gather, search, and validate salary and payroll data to provide viewers with job insights
- Support in-person productions including outreach to employers, planning shoots, and operating cameras or coordinating talent
- Collaborate with the Growth Team to enhance virality and boost high-performing posts into ad content
You'll work closely with Paulo Makalinao (Social Media Lead), Jace Mica (Senior Media Producer), and the broader leadership team including CEO Tim Makalinao.
Bandana is based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and requires in-person presence 4 days per week.
Requirements and Skills:
- Channel Growth Experience: You have built a social media page or channel from scratch with consistent viral content and tens of thousands of followers. You understand how to create engaging content, drive virality, and build a strong follower base (personal brand or any topic)
- Great Speaking Skills: You have experience being in front of the camera and presenting information in a concise, quick manner; you'll be the face of your channel
- Content Creation: Can create social media videos from scripting through shooting to final editing. Proficient with cameras and post-production software like Adobe Premiere and CapCut
- Graphic Creation: Experience with design tools like Figma; ability to create engaging graphics
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required; talent from diverse educational backgrounds considered
Standout Skills (one or more a plus):
- Skit Writing: Ability to write witty, job-related humor and short episodes
- Acting: Strong on-camera presence and ability to perform in skit-based content
- Advanced Camera Operation and Editing: Proficiency with mirrorless/cinema cameras and industry-standard software like Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
- Graphic Design: Ability to create original social media graphics from scratch that engage audiences
- Analytics: Spreadsheet proficiency and ability to find and communicate meaningful data insights
