Plaid is seeking a Social Community Manager to build and manage the company's social media presence and community engagement across multiple platforms. Plaid powers financial technology for millions of users and thousands of companies, including Venmo, SoFi, and Fortune 500 firms, connecting people to their financial accounts across 12,000 institutions in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe.
In this role, you'll be the voice of Plaid on social media, managing day-to-day engagement across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit. You'll respond to comments, DMs, and mentions with a human-first approach, building community and identifying opportunities to turn followers into advocates and superfans. You'll work closely with the Social Lead and broader Brand Marketing team to define Plaid's voice and ensure consistency across platforms while adapting tone to each channel's distinct culture.
Key responsibilities include proactively building customer love and advocacy by nurturing developers, customers, and fans into repeat advocates; staying culturally attuned to trends and moments worth engaging with; monitoring conversations and sentiment to flag trends, questions, and risks; supporting execution of community-facing content and campaigns; tracking engagement metrics and contributing to reporting; and escalating sensitive situations, PR risks, or customer issues quickly and calmly.
You'll need strong organizational skills to manage multiple platforms and stakeholders simultaneously, excellent judgment on when to respond directly versus escalate, and the ability to shift tone across channels while maintaining brand consistency. The role requires genuine curiosity about fintech and technology, with a sharp, current understanding of internet and meme culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years of experience managing B2B social channels in-house, including community building and customer advocacy
- Working knowledge of LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit, including the distinct culture and etiquette of each platform
- Sharp, current feel for internet/meme culture and cultural relevance
- Strong, adaptable writing skills with ability to shift tone across channels while staying on-brand
- Level head under pressure with good judgment on response versus escalation
- Interest in fintech or technology with genuine curiosity to learn the space
- Strong organizational skills managing multiple platforms and stakeholders
