Commvault is seeking a SLED Account Executive to drive quota achievement by selling data protection and cyber resilience solutions into a defined account list of State, Local, and Education (SLED) customers and high-value prospects. This is a field sales role requiring face-to-face engagement with customers and prospects, either directly or through partners.
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans for target account expansion and new account acquisition, with clear performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones over one and three-year periods. You'll create sales campaigns into target accounts and coordinate executive involvement with customer and prospect leadership. The role involves managing a matrixed sales team and liaising with Deal Desk, inside sales, partners, channels, sales engineers, professional services, finance, and legal to move prospects through the sales cycle to close.
Key responsibilities include achieving quarterly and annual quotas on complex, large-scale deals; constructing and delivering business cases at the CXO level with financial (ROI & TCO), technical, and strategic value propositions; preparing and presenting sales proposals; identifying and building strategic partner relationships; negotiating and closing deals; and maintaining deep industry and competitive knowledge.
You must have a bachelor's degree and proven enterprise-level software sales experience, with demonstrable success selling six- and seven-figure deals and managing integrated selling teams. Experience in the storage management industry within SLED is required. You should have a deep understanding of storage management or data management products, competitors, industry trends, and emerging marketplace dynamics. Minimum two years of success identifying, building relationships, and selling directly or with partners is essential. Strong communication, persuasion, and listening skills are critical. Background in IT infrastructure is required; SaaS experience is preferred.
