Salary: USD 184,000 - 200,000 / annual
Ceribell is a medical technology company developing a point-of-care EEG platform for rapid seizure detection in acute care settings. The platform is deployed across hundreds of community hospitals, academic facilities, and integrated delivery networks nationwide.
You will join the data science team to design and develop state-of-the-art classification algorithms for EEG neurodiagnostics. This role combines machine learning, signal processing, and biomedical expertise to advance the company's core technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design classification algorithms using time-series analysis, statistical signal processing, and machine learning for neurological indications
- Analyze EEG data for trends and patterns with clear clinical objectives
- Collaborate with business and clinical stakeholders to define project requirements and communicate model results
- Select and implement evaluation metrics that balance technical accuracy with clinical relevance
- Document, validate, and perform statistical analysis on models to meet medical device regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior data scientists and interns, providing technical guidance and feedback
- Independently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and align deliverables with key milestones
- Stay current with advances in machine learning and neurodiagnostics
Required qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent
- 7+ years of research or industry experience in signal processing, statistical analysis, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, feature engineering, machine learning, and algorithm development
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab, R, or similar languages
- Experience with biological signal processing and biomedical algorithm development
- Strong analytical and collaborative skills, detail-oriented
- Experience with large-scale datasets: preprocessing, cleaning, handling noisy/imbalanced biomedical data
- Proven ability to work independently and manage complex technical projects from concept to deployment
- Experience with advanced ML techniques (CNNs, RNNs) applied to time-series data
- Strong preference for neurodiagnostics or EEG data processing experience
Compensation: $184,000–$200,000 USD annually, plus performance-based incentives, equity, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) match, ESPP, flexible PTO, and parental leave.
