Nexthink is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design, build, and deliver large-scale resilient distributed services processing billions of events. You will work with modern cloud-native technologies to create scalable solutions that power Nexthink's digital employee experience platform, which provides IT leaders with unprecedented visibility into employee digital experiences across enterprises.
In this role, you will implement and streamline Nexthink's data platform, collaborating with Product Management and Engineering stakeholders to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment. You'll participate in technology roadmap decisions, advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance, and help establish best practices across the team. Responsibilities include designing scalable microservices architectures, implementing complex features, handling L3 support requests, and working within an agile iterative framework.
You bring 10+ years of Java development experience in SaaS environments, with strong expertise in microservices frameworks (Micronaut or Spring), messaging systems like Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent). You're familiar with distributed systems concepts including streaming services and distributed caching, and have hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes. Your technical foundation includes proficiency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Beyond technical skills, you're self-motivated, solution-oriented, an excellent communicator, and fluent in professional English.
