Pulumi is the cloud infrastructure platform that enables developers and infrastructure engineers to build, secure, and operate modern cloud applications using real programming languages. This Senior Product Manager role owns end-to-end product experiences across Pulumi Cloud's critical platform services: Pulumi ESC (environments, secrets, and configuration), managed state (the system of record for infrastructure), Registry and Components (reusable infrastructure packaging), authorization and RBAC, and user experiences including the cloud console, APIs, and integrations.
The core challenge is building the control plane that infrastructure agents must trust—defining what "agent-ready" means for a production system. This includes determining how autonomous systems safely access configuration, obtain credentials, scope blast radius, and maintain audit trails acceptable to security teams.
Key responsibilities include: owning the roadmap for Pulumi Cloud's platform services; defining agent-readiness requirements for the control plane; driving the ESC roadmap for configuration and secrets flow; owning the trust boundary (permissions, RBAC, audit); shaping the Registry and Components ecosystem; treating APIs as first-class products; balancing enterprise governance needs against developer experience; instrumenting metrics; and driving end-to-end delivery across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Support, and open source.
The role requires 7+ years in product management, engineering, or technical program management with real experience on platform, API, or infrastructure products. Ideal candidates have strong opinions on API and platform design (resource modeling, versioning, backward compatibility), comfort with security and identity domains (secrets, permissions, tenancy, audit), strong technical instincts for architectural tradeoffs, and a track record of ramping quickly in unfamiliar technical domains.
