Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer to lead electrical interconnect system design for advanced defense technology platforms. You will act as the lead harness design engineer for R&D teams, owning end-to-end electrical wiring and interconnect systems including power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity.
Key responsibilities include designing and fabricating harness systems to meet rigorous technical and environmental requirements; researching and selecting connectors, wire, shielding, and cable construction; developing harness block diagrams and wire diagrams for production; and preparing assembly instructions and test procedures. You will participate in design reviews, provide guidance to electrical teams on system requirements, and work across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines.
You will manage involvement in multiple concurrent projects at various stages, from new developments to active deployments and customer-operated hardware, in a fast-paced environment. The role requires deep expertise in 3D CAD harness routing using Siemens NX and Capital Harness, formboard drawing generation, and direct collaboration with harness manufacturers.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of hands-on harness design experience for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications, and proficiency with Siemens NX Cabling and Capital Harness tools. You must demonstrate expertise in electrical trade studies, risk mitigation (voltage drop, crosstalk, EMI susceptibility), familiarity with electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, 1553), and knowledge of MIL-STD requirements and harness standards. Experience with SWaP optimization, security clearance eligibility, and exceptional communication skills are essential.
Preferred qualifications include 8+ years designing aerospace harness systems, familiarity with aircraft avionics vendors and suppliers, and EMI/EMC expertise.
