Celonis is seeking a Senior Value Engineer specializing in Banking to work with world-leading financial institutions on process intelligence and AI-driven transformation. You will be at the forefront of solving business-critical problems across loan origination, client onboarding, capital markets operations, and regulatory reporting.
In this role, you will:
• Lead AI discovery and solutioning engagements, translating complex banking workflows into innovative AI solutions that drive measurable ROI. You'll address domain-specific challenges such as fraud detection, credit risk assessment, and KYC/AML automation.
• Drive the full customer lifecycle—from technical discovery and capability demonstrations during expansion cycles to post-sale implementation guidance, ensuring adoption and efficiency targets are met.
• Design and prototype solutions in client hackathons, leveraging cutting-edge AI to tackle legacy core-banking system challenges across settlements, reconciliations, and payments.
• Support enterprise clients in transitioning from rule-based automation to autonomous AI agents, enabling intelligent banking processes such as autonomous exception handling in trade operations or automated complaints management.
• Execute end-to-end proof-of-value projects, architecting secure, scalable LLM/agent systems with RAG and guardrails that integrate with complex enterprise stacks (SAP Banking, Salesforce FINS, core-banking ledgers).
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert for the banking value chain, scaling domain knowledge across the organization regarding financial operations and transaction lifecycles.
You will work with Celonis's Process Intelligence platform combined with leading AI and ML technology partners to feed operational context to AI systems, helping banks understand the intricate realities of their massive transactional ecosystems.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience leading technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements within complex Banking or Financial Services environments, including building ROI business cases and guiding technical implementations.
• Deep domain knowledge of the banking value chain with ability to translate operational needs into AI use cases across: Lending & Onboarding (Loan Origination, KYC/AML, Banking & Lending); Capital Markets (Sales & Trading Ops, Settlements, Reconciliations, Custody Services); Support & Governance (Finance, Risk & Controls, Regulatory/Transaction Reporting).
• Expertise in Generative AI techniques including RAG, prompt engineering, and multi-agent orchestration for building high-impact use cases (e.g., intelligent compliance assistants, automated data extraction from complex trade documentation).
• Technical fluency with Python and common ML/Data libraries (pandas, LangChain) as well as SQL for handling massive, high-velocity transactional datasets.
• Strong presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders, from technical whiteboarding with IT to formal demos for Banking Directors.
• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or Mathematics preferred.
NICE TO HAVE:
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems using LLM orchestration and function calling within highly regulated Data Sovereignty environments.
• Familiarity with FSI-specific platforms (nCino, Guidewire, FIS, Fiserv, Bloomberg).
• Experience deploying models across major cloud providers (Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex).
