Seek Sophie is a platform connecting travelers to community businesses, conservationists, and artisans across Asia, enabling travel that makes a positive impact. The company is a small, mission-driven team where design and storytelling are central to the product.
In this Senior UX/UI Designer role, you will tackle complex design problems with minimal bureaucracy between concept and user impact. You'll work on a product that serves two distinct user groups: small business owners in Southeast Asia (many operating primarily via WhatsApp) and international travelers expecting seamless booking experiences. The challenge is making complicated functionality feel intuitive while handling numerous edge cases and technical constraints.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing end-to-end product experiences across user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Collaborating closely with engineers and product teams to ensure designs translate accurately to implementation
- Simplifying complex problems into intuitive user experiences
- Working with design systems and responsive design principles
- Taking ownership of design decisions and working independently with initiative
- Iterating based on user feedback and conversion metrics
- Contributing to brand work alongside technical product design
The role combines strategic thinking about user empathy with practical understanding of technical systems. You'll see your work ship quickly and measure its impact directly on user behavior and business metrics.
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in product, UX/UI design
- Must be based in Singapore (visa sponsorship may be available; confirm in application)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
- Strong user empathy and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent visual, interaction, and UI design skills
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and create intuitive experiences
- Proficiency with user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity design
- Experience working closely with engineering and product teams
- Practical understanding of technical constraints, edge cases, and implementation considerations
- Experience with design systems and responsive design
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities
- Genuine interest in Seek Sophie's mission and the communities served
