Salary: USD 147,900 - 203,000 / annual
Oura is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to lead user research initiatives across the company's digital commerce and membership experiences. You will spearhead holistic research efforts spanning discovery, evaluation, purchasing, and product management for Oura's DTC eCommerce platform, with opportunities to expand into Membership and B2B/Commercial experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Directing end-to-end user research initiatives from scope formulation through strategic recommendations
- Designing and executing user interviews, usability evaluations, concept testing, card sorting, and other qualitative research methods
- Collaborating with Design, Product, Engineering, Insights, Marketing, and Commercial teams to identify and prioritize research needs
- Synthesizing research findings into impactful deliverables such as journey maps, entry point analysis, Jobs to Be Done frameworks, page-level goals, and friction mapping
- Integrating qualitative findings with analytics metrics, experimentation results, and heuristic standards to assess user experiences
- Communicating research themes and insights to leadership, connecting customer motivations to business and product metrics
- Building scalable research operations through frameworks, templates, and lightweight workflows that support design validation

This is a remote US role with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco, San Diego, or Boston.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of dedicated user research practice with a proven track record of guiding end-to-end studies that directly shape product strategy
- Proven background evaluating digital commerce platforms, B2B, enterprise SaaS, or complex web applications
- Exceptional qualitative research expertise: in-depth interviews, usability studies, synthesis, and insight distillation from small user cohorts
- Proficiency with AI-driven research methodologies for participant recruitment, session moderation, transcript analysis, research repositories, and knowledge sharing, while maintaining rigorous data privacy and ethics standards
- Deep expertise in customer journey mapping, Jobs to Be Done, page-level objective definition, heuristic reviews, and experience audits
- Ability to unify qualitative insights with quantitative metrics, telemetry, and experiment results into cohesive narratives
- Outstanding workshop facilitation and communication skills that build consensus across executive leadership and cross-functional teams
- Practical experience with centralized research repositories, behavioral analytics tools, experimentation platforms, and scalable research operations
- Track record of establishing or scaling a high-impact research function within rapidly growing or agile startup environments
Nice to have:
- Experience researching health, wellness, digital health, healthcare, or wearable technology products
- Experience working across international markets and diverse user groups
