SeatGeek IQ partners with major sports and entertainment rightsholders to build collaborative pricing and inventory strategies. The Senior Trader role owns pricing strategy, inventory positioning, and partner relationships for a subset of the company's largest partnerships, reporting to the Director of SeatGeekIQ. In this role, you are accountable for the commercial health of your partnerships, not just pricing execution. You will set and defend pricing strategy with partners, own renewal posture and escalations, and serve as the first point of contact for partner leadership on strategic matters. You manage the full event lifecycle from presale through day-of, making decisions on pricing, inventory allocation across channels, and position management against sell-through targets and spoilage risk. Key responsibilities include: - Serving as senior owner on major sports and entertainment partnerships, setting and revising pricing strategy as markets move - Owning commercial relationship health through renewal management, escalations, and regular partner leadership engagement - Managing pricing across the event lifecycle against sell-through targets, price realization, and spoilage risk - Deciding inventory hold/release strategy and channel distribution - Maintaining partner relationships through weekly and event-level reporting and strategy check-ins - Mentoring junior traders and reviewing their pricing work on high-stakes events - Answering partner research questions on marketplace behavior and demand drivers, then systematizing one-off requests into repeatable outputs - Identifying service gaps and leading pilots on solutions, including shaping internal pricing and market intelligence products - Conducting post-event analysis and carrying learnings into future cycles - Traveling approximately 20% of the year or more (concentrated in season), including partner site visits, live events alongside partner teams (evenings/weekends), industry conferences, and team offsites The role leverages automation and AI to keep analytical overhead minimal, allowing focus on judgment rather than assembly. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, sports management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience - 5+ years in ticket pricing, revenue management, trading, or comparable analytical commercial role - At least 2 years as owner of client or partner relationships, preferably in sports, live entertainment, or dynamic-pricing industries - Real sports knowledge: understanding how standings, schedules, rivalries, star players, and playoff races move demand; ability to credibly discuss sports with industry veterans - Genuine awareness of live entertainment, including how touring, on-sales, and routing shape demand - Track record as senior owner of significant commercial relationships (carrying a book, not just executing within one) - Experience being accountable when partnerships are under strain, not only when performing well - Experience mentoring others, reviewing work, or setting standards for teams - Fluency with sell-through, price realization, ATP, GTV, and inventory aging; judgment to know when models are telling you something vs. when they aren't - Comfort with spreadsheets and BI tooling, including reading and questioning data you didn't produce - Concrete example of turning one-off analysis into something reusable - Nice to have: experience on rightsholder side (club, league, venue, promoter) or secondary marketplace; exposure to commercial deal structuring; familiarity with data analytics concepts and workflows
