Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for Mathematical Software to oversee the development and delivery of Battlespace Awareness software for critical defense programs. This role sits at the intersection of advanced algorithms, military systems integration, and program execution.
You will serve as the linchpin ensuring that mathematical software—including optimization solvers, estimation engines, and applied probability models—is developed to specification and released on schedule. The Battlespace Awareness software services comprise advanced algorithms for sense-making and decision-making at tactical timelines, integrating with Lattice OS, Anduril's AI-powered command and control platform.
Key responsibilities include:
**Project Leadership & Strategy**: Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans covering feature development, testing, validation, deployment, and monitoring. Establish clear objectives and deliverables aligned with program needs.
**Technical Expertise**: Maintain deep understanding of underlying algorithms and software interfaces for battle management, threat prediction, tracking, and classification. Stay current on latest techniques and work with subject matter experts to incorporate innovations into the project plan.
**Release Management**: Oversee planning and execution of software release processes, ensuring smooth deployment and adherence to quality standards before release.
**Stakeholder Communication**: Serve as primary point of contact for all project-related communications internally and externally. Regularly update stakeholders on status, risks, and milestones through reports and presentations.
**Resource Allocation**: Assess and allocate personnel, software, and hardware resources. Monitor utilization and adjust to avoid bottlenecks.
**Risk Management**: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies with subject matter experts. Regularly review and update risk management plans.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work with other divisions to ensure software supports program priorities and meets integration requirements. Facilitate communication between Battlespace Awareness business line and other stakeholders.
**Documentation & Process Improvement**: Ensure comprehensive project documentation including technical specifications and user manuals. Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes.
This is a high-impact role requiring someone who can bridge technical depth in mathematical software with program management discipline, working in a fast-paced defense environment.
**REQUIREMENTS**
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Extensive project management experience, preferably in software development
- Demonstrable understanding of optimization, applied probability, and AI/ML technology
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity and experience working with materiel leadership or mission partners within Army Air & Missile Defense, USMC Ground Based Air Defense, SOCOM, DHS CBP, or allied defense organizations
- Working knowledge of counter-UAS and air surveillance competitive landscape
- Experience working on or alongside a team developing mathematical software such as optimization solvers, estimation engines, simulation frameworks, or applied probability models
