ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join its Bangalore office. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and product management teams to plan, create, and maintain user-focused technical documentation for multiple product features and applications, aligned with established content strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop comprehensive technical documentation
- Providing strategic input to shape future content strategy for your assigned product or business unit
- Contributing to the evolution of ServiceNow's content development processes, DITA-based information models, and writing standards
- Developing deep expertise in the ServiceNow product ecosystem and the specific product area you support
- Demonstrating leadership by mentoring other writers, adapting to changing priorities, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration
You will work in a fast-paced, globally distributed software development environment where you independently plan, create, and deliver documentation while supporting diverse teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional experience in technical communication
- Demonstrated proficiency in English language skills, including grammar, sentence structure, and ability to write clear, user-centric, procedural documentation (assessed via HackerRank)
- Experience authoring in DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) or another XML-based structured authoring architecture
- Understanding of content development life cycles and processes
- Portfolio or samples of prior technical writing demonstrating ability to communicate complex ideas and technical information clearly
- Experience independently planning, creating, and delivering documentation in fast-paced, globally distributed software development environments
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (including AI-powered tools, workflow automation, or analyzing AI-driven insights)
- Ability and eagerness to mentor other writers, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and help cross-functional teams collaborate effectively
