As Senior Technical SEO Manager, you will own the technical SEO roadmap and SEO analytics function for xero.com, ensuring Xero is discoverable and continuously improving across traditional search engines and AI answer engines. Your work directly impacts how millions of small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers discover Xero. You will lead advanced technical audits across a multi-market website spanning more than a dozen regions, translate findings into a business-impact-prioritized roadmap, and partner with engineering teams to deliver fixes. A core responsibility is owning SEO performance measurement—building automated reporting that transforms complex search data into actionable insights for stakeholders. You will join Xero's in-house SEO team, reporting to the Head of SEO and collaborating with content marketing, SEO, and AEO specialists. The team is AI-native, with end-to-end automated workflows and custom tooling. You will work closely with engineering, marketing technology, and marketing operations teams. Initial focus areas include: conducting a full technical audit of the marketing website across markets with business-impact prioritization; defining and maintaining the technical SEO roadmap with clear stakeholder visibility; partnering with engineering and marketing technology to embed best practices and deliver fixes; owning the SEO analytics function with automated reporting and strategic insight delivery; and automating technical SEO workflows with AI agents to scale analysis and accelerate delivery. Xero offers flexible working with hybrid and remote options across Australia and New Zealand. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep, hands-on technical SEO expertise across crawl and indexation, internationalization, rendering, schema markup, and site architecture - Substantial SEO experience with multiple years in a technical SEO-focused role, ideally at a SaaS, technology brand, or e-commerce company with complex multi-regional sites - Strong SEO analytics capability, including building reporting frameworks, with proficiency in tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and the Google suite - Hands-on experience with AI, having built agents, automations, or workflows to scale your own work - Systems thinking mindset—understanding how technical decisions ripple across content, product, and business outcomes - Strong cross-functional influence with a track record of translating technical requirements into briefs that engineering teams can execute
