Similarweb is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the design, build, and delivery of data products for its Investor Solutions division, serving hedge funds, asset managers, and PE/VC firms with alternative data structured for investment research. This role reports to the VP of Investor Solutions. You will bridge Similarweb's investor clients—quant researchers and fundamental analysts—with the datasets built to serve them. Your expertise in data combined with finance domain knowledge will enable you to translate how funds evaluate, test, and use alternative data into scalable data products that clients backtest and trade on. Key responsibilities include: - Own investor-facing data products end-to-end: defining datasets, signals, and metrics from raw assets and pipelines through delivery and client value extraction - Develop and execute the investor data products strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities and planning execution - Ensure data quality as a first-class product requirement, owning coverage, accuracy, and freshness - Design schemas and delivery specifications for datasets, datafeeds (S3/Snowflake), APIs, and MCP tools - Conduct hands-on validation using Python/SQL against raw data to validate hypotheses before committing engineering resources - Engage directly with funds, quant researchers, and analysts to translate feedback into roadmap priorities - Make data-backed prioritization decisions based on usage, backtest results, and deal feedback - Guide data science and engineering teams in developing necessary data structures and production datasets - Collaborate with stakeholders across DS/DE/GTM/Analytics, writing clear requirements and aligning teams on delivery timelines You will be a builder first—someone who prototypes, gets hands dirty with raw data, is skeptical by default, and comfortable with ambiguity. You will not hand off specs; you will directly impact and steer the work of data scientists, data engineers, and analysts. Requirements: - 3+ years in product or data product roles where the product was the data - Finance domain experience: worked at or sold to hedge funds/asset managers; understand how alternative data is evaluated, tested, and used in investment processes - Proven product ownership: driven discovery → definition → delivery → iteration with cross-functional teams - Recent experience shipping data products (datasets, datafeeds, APIs) involving diverse data entities and dependencies - Strong data skills: data analysis, dataset building, schema definition, data pipelines - Experience building and analyzing data with AI tools and agents - Hands-on Python proficiency; comfortable working with big datasets and financial data - Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) - Ability to influence cross-functional teams and align them on priorities - Based in New York (hybrid, flexible) Advantages: - Alternative data experience (vendor side, buy-side data team, or data-sourcing role) - Familiarity with backtesting workflows, factor research, or earnings-preview research - API/MCP/AI-era product experience Note: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. The company is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
