Payward, the parent company of Kraken and other financial infrastructure businesses, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the product vision and roadmap for its payments platform. This role sits at the center of Payward's enterprise infrastructure, which enables companies to integrate trading, payments, funding, and digital asset services through a unified system.
The Payments & Blockchain team owns the critical first and last mile of every dollar moving in or out of Payward's products, managing dozens of banking partners, payment service providers (PSPs), and local rails that power deposits and withdrawals for millions of users. The payments platform itself is an in-house PSP—a scalable, multi-tenant backend offering hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, and direct APIs that any Payward business can integrate to reach pay-in and payout rails worldwide.
In this role, you will:
- Own the product vision and roadmap for both the shared backend and integration surfaces (hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, direct APIs) that internal clients build on
- Map requirements across internal clients and evolve the platform's vision to serve a growing range of use cases
- Partner with engineering to translate the target vision into a sequenced, high-impact roadmap with clear milestones
- Prioritize competing client needs, make trade-offs visible, and communicate rationale for decisions
- Shape the end-to-end client experience from first conversation through go-live, enabling adoption with minimal hand-holding
- Collaborate with banking and partnerships teams to ensure each new PSP or bank integration is built once and reaches all Payward businesses
- Integrate compliance, risk, and legal requirements early in the roadmap to prevent launch blockers
- Define and track platform success metrics including time to launch a rail, time for new client go-live, share of available rails, and payment success rates
This is an internal platform role where your customers are other product teams and developers within Payward. You will work across multiple regulated legal entities and licensing regimes, managing stakeholders with competing priorities and building alignment without direct authority.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in a platform, API, or infrastructure role where customers were internal teams or developers
- Working knowledge of payments: pay-ins and payouts, PSPs and acquirers, bank rails (ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, and local methods), and money flow mechanics
- Strong technical fluency: ability to read RFCs, challenge architecture decisions, and write API specs that engineers respect
- Experience shipping developer-facing products such as APIs, SDKs, or embeddable UI components
- Clear, structured writing skills to translate complex system designs into documentation that product, compliance, and business stakeholders can act on
- Demonstrated skill managing many stakeholders with different priorities and building alignment without direct authority
- Comfort using data to set goals and measure platform adoption and performance
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience at a PSP, payment orchestrator, or payments infrastructure company, or building one in-house
- Background with multi-tenant SaaS or B2B2C platforms
- Familiarity with crypto, stablecoins, or on/off-ramps
- Experience working across multiple regulated legal entities or licensing regimes
