Rocket Lab, an end-to-end space company building rockets and spacecraft, seeks a Senior Technical Payroll Analyst II to optimize payroll processes for its domestic and international workforce. Based onsite at the Long Beach, CA headquarters, this role is pivotal in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and seamless technical integrations across systems. You will serve as technical support for ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager, managing user access, security roles, and permission structures to ensure data integrity and confidentiality. You'll document technical payroll processes, procedures, and change controls in compliance with SOX requirements, and participate in change management processes including testing system configurations and auditing pre/post-deployment changes to ensure compliance with federal and statutory payroll requirements. Key responsibilities include designing, creating, and running custom and ad-hoc reports in ADP; analyzing payroll data for accuracy and trends using SQL; developing, testing, and maintaining integrations between ADP, Workday, and other systems; and troubleshooting integration errors with a strong focus on API development and management. You'll support end-to-end payroll operations for domestic and international employees, participate in payroll module implementations and system upgrades, and collaborate with ADP and third-party vendors to manage service tickets and evaluate new systems. Required qualifications: 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree (or 12+ years equivalent work experience); hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Manager, and HCM systems like Oracle, Workday, or UKG; strong SQL knowledge for data analysis and reporting; proven API development and troubleshooting experience; global payroll operations and multi-currency processing expertise; SOX compliance knowledge; and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot integration issues and manage vendor relationships. Nice-to-have qualifications include Workday integration expertise, Flexspring integration experience, API development and configuration proficiency, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Workday certifications, familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and Jira, and experience with other HRIS/payroll platforms.
