Salary: USD 100,000 - 115,000 / annual

StockX, a Detroit-based technology leader in the consumer marketplace space, is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its growing Finance team. This role focuses on U.S. sales and use tax compliance, accounting, and indirect tax management across multiple jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining supporting workpapers for indirect tax filings; managing sales and use tax account reconciliations and month-end close support; assisting with annual financial statement processes including reconciliations and journal entries; and managing indirect tax audits, notices, and controversy matters. You will gather documentation, perform analysis, coordinate responses, and maintain audit trackers. Additional duties involve monitoring state and local tax legislation for changes relevant to StockX, researching domestic indirect tax implications of new business initiatives, and providing recommendations to mitigate tax exposure. You'll partner cross-functionally with business teams to support implementation of tax requirements for new products and operational changes, support tax engine and systems testing, and proactively monitor the accuracy of tax charges and system-calculated results. The role requires strong expertise in multi-state sales and use tax regulations, tax account reconciliations, and workpapers. You'll work collaboratively with Accounting, Finance, Legal, Product, Operations, and external advisors. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required, along with 3+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment. Public accounting experience is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. CPA or equivalent license preferred. Experience with Avalara or similar indirect tax platforms and Power BI is a nice-to-have.
