Salary: USD 82,000 - 137,000 / annual
Hudl is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to lead their FinOps practice—owning cloud and software spend visibility, forecasting, and optimization end-to-end. You'll be the single source of truth for product and leadership on the real cost of what the company builds and what's on the roadmap.
Key responsibilities:
- Forecast and monitor cloud and software spend: own models that track, allocate, and predict spend across AWS and the broader stack; monitor for anomalies and build guardrails to prevent recurrence.
- Turn spend into actionable decisions: maintain chargeback models that tie every dollar back to services, squads, or contracts; partner with Accounting and FP&A to keep numbers aligned; serve as the single pane of glass for leadership cost questions.
- Automate repetitive work: write Python scripts, leverage GitHub Actions and AWS Lambda, use SQL and DBT against the data warehouse to eliminate manual tasks; manage AWS reservations and Savings Plans.
- Identify and drive efficiency opportunities: spot cost and efficiency gains independently, shape them into formal pitches, and shepherd them through engineering, product, finance, and accounting to completion.
You'll work primarily in-office (more days in-office than remote) with flexibility to coordinate your schedule with your team. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and finance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting (Cloud FinOps experience strongly preferred).
- 5+ years using code to eliminate manual work; strong proficiency in Python and working comfort with SQL.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS, including pricing models, Reserved Instances, and Savings Plans.
- Ability to walk into undefined problems, research, define a path forward in a formal pitch, and manage to completion using Scrum or Kanban in Jira independently.
- Strong communicator who can explain complex analysis to Directors and VPs as well as engineers; builds relationships to move work across teams.
- AI-forward mindset: use AI to make yourself and others faster and sharper (Claude ecosystem experience is a plus).
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with CloudZero, Terraform (via Spacelift), GitHub Actions, AWS Lambda, SQL, DBT, Python, and APIs for data sourcing.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or hands-on FinOps best practices experience.
- Software engineering background.
