The Analyst, Customer Due Diligence role is responsible for conducting AML (Anti-Money Laundering) periodic reviews and event-driven reviews of merchants and sub-merchants to ensure customer information, ownership structures, business activity, transaction profiles, and supporting documentation remain accurate, current, and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct end-to-end AML periodic and event-driven reviews of merchants and sub-merchants in line with internal procedures and policy requirements
- Review merchant information including ownership structure, business activity, line of business, processing activity, and regional exposure
- Assess whether merchant risk ratings and due diligence levels remain appropriate based on current information
- Complete required review actions in Salesforce and Fircosoft Compliance Link
- Manage periodic review cases from assignment through closure with accurate documentation
- Raise and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with merchants, account managers, and internal stakeholders
- Perform enhanced due diligence reviews for higher-risk merchants
- Escalate cases appropriately where review findings or policy triggers require secondary review
- Maintain clear, audit-ready case commentary and review notes
- Escalate unusual or suspicious activity in line with internal reporting obligations
- Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and suggesting solutions
- Contribute to consistent decision-making and knowledge sharing across the team
The role operates within a hybrid model with three days per week in the Mexico City office. You'll work as part of a collaborative team focused on high-quality review outcomes, clear communication, ownership, and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in AML, compliance, or customer due diligence
- Strong understanding of AML, KYC (Know Your Customer), KYB (Know Your Business), CDD (Customer Due Diligence), and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) principles
- Ability to review and interpret corporate documents and ownership structures
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to identify inconsistencies and red flags
- Ability to make structured, evidence-based decisions in line with policy
- Strong written communication skills for case notes, RFIs, and escalations
- Good stakeholder management and follow-up discipline
- Ability to manage multiple live cases and deadlines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Good judgment in identifying when to escalate or seek secondary review
- Ability to work with case management and due diligence tools
- Comfortable using internal platforms and review-supporting tools
- Ability to work within controlled processes while remaining adaptable to changes
