Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Launched Effects team is responsible for scaling manufacturing and delivery of the ALTIUS family of systems—tube-launched, autonomous aerial platforms for ISR, Electronic Warfare, and kinetic strike capabilities. As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality, reliable precision machined parts for missile and high-speed aircraft programs. This role bridges cutting-edge R&D and high-rate production, focusing on early engagement with design teams and suppliers to meet quality requirements from the outset. Key responsibilities include: - Partner with design teams to support product development, provide design-for-manufacturability feedback, and generate product data (drawings, BOMs, part requirements) for precision mechanical parts. - Leverage expertise in machining, molding, additive manufacturing, fabrication, special processes, and inspection/measurement to support internal design processes and manage technical risks, prototyping, and scaling for volume production. - Drive supplier quality development throughout product development stages via design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification for components and sub-assemblies. - Collaborate with development engineering, product quality, sourcing, category management, and program management to deliver predictable supply and manage exceptions/deviations. - Drive supplier quality readiness by analyzing key and critical characteristics, developing measurement systems, and conducting supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development). - Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing and Product Sourcing Engineering to drive overall supplier performance for cost, quality, and delivery. - Own elimination of supplier risk through audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation to ensure compliance. - Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities; own containments from purchased goods. - Review supplier effectiveness, share lessons learned, and drive Supplier Corrective Action and Response (SCAR) processes. - Audit supplier Quality Management Systems for compliance with Anduril's flow-down requirements from customers. - Prepare, support, and lead supplier onsite audits and reviews for contract deliverables. Note: This position is permanently based in Atlanta, GA, and requires temporary relocation for a comprehensive 1-month training program in Santa Ana, CA. Anduril will fully provide and cover all corporate housing, transportation, and travel accommodations during this training period. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or similar technical field. - Experience producing precision mechanical parts for aerospace or defense. - Experience scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype and proof-of-concept parts through low-rate production to high-rate production. Source inspection experience at mechanical manufacturing, aerospace, and defense suppliers is a plus. Experience flowing down Source Control requirements to suppliers. - Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements. AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor Certification or equivalent is a plus. - Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard and ensuring suppliers have control plans and inspection processes capable of meeting product requirements. - Experience driving supplier performance and evaluation. Experience with Statement of Work (SOW), quality clauses, intellectual property (IP), and government regulations such as ITAR. - Working knowledge of product development methodologies including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), quality improvement techniques, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). - Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion. - Analytical skills and experience with data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc.). - Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. - Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree in a technical field. - Experience creating material and process specifications. - Experience managing special processes including heat treatment, polishing, anodize, coating, and paint. - Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA) experience and developing source inspection plans and qualifying inspection process capabilities. - Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements. - Experience with Teamcenter, NX, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, and Foundry.
